I haven't seen much said about Husky tailback Polk... I personally thought he was a very fluid and powerful tailback with deceptive speed and strength. Seemed to be pretty hard to bring down with an arm tackle. Or for that fact any kind of tackle!!! Also heard he was recruited by USC, and you gotta admit, they know good backs.

The question is was he really as good as I remember,, or, did our tackling make him look like a future Sunday star?

Good... yes
Great... hard to tell. On Sundays in the NFL they tackle a lot better than LSU did Saturday.
He would be our third or fourth back.

I Do know he definitely stands out,, Just rewatching the game,, and I do believe this guy is going to gain some serious yardage this year!!
Especially with Locker spreading out defenses.

Maybe 3 players if you count Agular the wideout=Maybe in the rotation,, maybe . But I personally saw Locker & Polk as Elite players!

Oh yea,,,, definitely forgot the TE... Player!

Speaking of,, Saw Dickson miss a few - One had alotta Mustard on it over the middle, but was a Must catch! That being said,, I think with a little more chemistry, He will be a favorite of JJ's this year.
Re-watching the game saw MUCH more positives than last year... Defense was almost always in a position to make a play+++ Just missed the tackles..ALOT, This has to be fixed, and I think we are going to be a Hell of a defense once we start tackling and a little more man with Serious Blitzin off the Edge!

I was impressed by Polk. With Locker always a threat to run from the QB position - and a pretty good passer if Saturday was any indication - a good frosh WR, a good RB, and a good TE, UW might put some points up this year.

Polk actually committed to SC before he was even on the recruiting radar. I live in SoCal and had never heard of him, but after his JR season, he verbaled.

Suddenly, his stock shot up and he backed out of his commit late in the game and went for the PT with UW.

Last night was the first I had seen of him, and he did look solid. Looks like he made a good decision for himself, because I honestly don't see him cracking our RB rotation anytime soon.

From the UW team site ...

"a Superprep All-America pick as the nation's No. 7 running back and the No. 14 overall prospect in the Far West region ... rated as the No. 18 football recruit in California, the No. 4 "all-purpose back" in the country and the No. 139 overall prospect in the nation by Rivals.com ... ranked the nation's No. 99 overall prospect by Scout.com

Yeah ... he's good. It will be interesting to see how his season unfolds, along with UW's.
