Washington welcomes back the services of 10 starters on defense and that should help this unit improve dramatically after giving up 38.6 ppg and 451.8 total ypg in 2008.

I understand most players get better with experience.. but returning your terrible defense from last year probably won't incur an incredible defense this year..

LSU should put up 42 easy..

Whats so funny about that? They might be better considering they have a new DC, just like we do

I think you need to spend a little time with the dictionary.

Well we have 7 guys on defense in different positions.

And I don't think Washington's defense is going to be terrible, but we gave up around 14 points less than them per game, and our defense was around 40th nationally...wasn't "terrible" by any means. Whereas Washington's defense really was atrocious.

40th is really bad for a BSC conference, but UW would have been near the bottom of the Sunbelt.

Do you people just have spelling/grammatical corrections set to post when someone makes a comment??

There wasn't one misspelled word in that sentence douche (spelling??)

and yes.. our defense wasn't the best last year.. but we didn't give up 38+ points per game.. and coaching makes a difference with talent.. it has no effect but to get a good coach fired when there is no talent..

Yes, it was. Worst defense since the early 90's.

UW has talent and a new coach......same type of circumstances as LSU...don't count them out just yet.

It just seemed a lot worse because of the 7 TD's the offense gave up.

They gave up 2887 rushing yards last season...117th in the country. Aint much you can do to fix that

No, but dude, he was cutting you some slack.
Your post made no sense at all. I have no problem with your spelling but what the frick are you trying to say? "but returning your terrible defense from last year probably won't incur an incredible defense this year" Uhhh. duhh... say what?

Exactly, for our standards it was bad. But there are 119 teams in D-1 football. That means we were about upper third nationally.

Makes sense to me. Despite the experience returning on defense, if it was terrible, it doesn't mean it will be incredible (great, fantastic, terrific) this year just because they have experience. i.e. experience alone does not breed excellence.
