Went for the first time this weekend.

Got the special, which consists of an appetizer, entree, and desert, all for $28 per person.

Started off with the Barbeque fried oysters, very good, but not as good as the Mcilhenney oysters from DBS.

Appetizers: Shrimp crepes with goat cheese. This was awesome!

Entree: Seafood Augratin. It was good, but a bit cheesy for my taste. The portion was HUGE. I have had better, but a solid B.

Desert: Creme brulee. Very good version of this classic.

Overall: Solid B with good service.

I've had fois gras there before, but I'm not seeing it on the online menu.

It's a great place for drinks and some goat cheese crepes. As far as the food...I think it is good, but not great. I am certianly glad it is a solid restaurant considering it is in such a prominent tourist location.

I've always liked Muriel's. I think there are some dishes which are great and some that are okay. Had brunch there about 3 weeks ago and it was excellent. Everything was excellent, as a matter of fact~food, service, atmostphere... Haven't had dinner there in a while, though.

Agree with TA. In my opinion, the best part about the restaurant is the balcony that very few people know about. They won't serve you up there or even let you know that it is available. Many Sunday afternoons, I've gotten drinks at the bar and brought them upstairs to the balcony and people watched jackson square and people leaving church at the cathedral.

My cousin Will was the sous chef there for a couple years.. He served Brad and Angelina.. and created an appetizer of crab and mango, especially for them, that Angelina loved.. He's at Cafe Degas now..

That's it in a nutshell...not that the food is bad or anything. But the last time I went in February, I pretty much forgot about it the next day.

Agreed. They're not inventing new things there. But they execute their menu very well, in my opinion.

not giving this place enough credit. one of my favorite restraunts anywhere. i usually get their fish specials. atmosphere is excellent and the restraunt itself has many little side rooms, and other nooks and crannies that are fun to explore
