I have an arguement with a buddy of mine every few months over Jamarcus russel. We are both huge LSU fans and attend almost every home game and try to make atleast one road game. Anyway, he thinks JR was a terrible QB at LSU and will fail dramaticly in the NFL. I hope he does well in the NFL, but dont really care. As far as College, I think he was a great QB at LSU. Does anyone else know someone that thinks like my moronic friend?? Or am I the only one that has to deal with this?

2 out of 3 people on the rant are your moronic friend. half of those people also think matt flynn is destined for stardom and 90% of those people think slavery wasnt' that big of a deal and they don't see what all the fuss is about.

I like the frohawk JR is sporting. He could, however, take the diamond earings out before the game. I'm sure he wouldn't want to lose one during the pounding he's going to be taking again this yr.

He is not terrible. But the drop back and throw the fricking ball as far as you can so your badass receivers can out run everbody and catch it works better in college.

There are more than two analysts who have said the team that beat the pants off ND in the Sugar Bowl was the best LSU team(said last year). Russell was a great college QB and will be fine in the NFL when he's traded. Oakland looked even worse than usual with the Saints 'new' defense swarming em.

The leadership ability of any QB who stands on the sidelines joking around when his team is getting their asses handed to them has to be called into question.

I watched the NO-OAK game, and I agree that the 5 carat diamond solitaire ear ring would be better left in the locker room.

I love what Russell did at LSU and he is definitely a Tiger great. Maybe the most talented pure passing QB ever to play at LSU.

In the NFL work ethic and character are needed, in addition to athletic talent, to be successful over the long term. Season long holdouts, flashy jewelry, showing up to camp overweight and out of shape, and joking around on the sideline appearing not to notice the score do not add up to what most serious analysts would call 'good leadership ability'.

The jury is still out on Jamarcus Russell. I hope he grows this season and I wish him the best.

He will always be one of my favorite Tigers no matter what he does in the NFL, and my being objective about what I see does not in any way reduce or dilute my respect for his accomplishments as a Tiger.

Whack job for a coach. Whack job for an owner. No outstanding QB development coach on staff.

Hard to see Jamarcus singlehandedly make himself into a top tier NFL QB at Oakland. Hope he gets traded where he can develop.

You and your friend must have been asleep when he was piloting the Tigers. Long nap. He was a stud.
