if he earned it by doing the right things then good for him.

shake your head all you want, it just shows you have no idea what the difference is between SS and NB.

mccray is a very good strong safety.

he is fine as a safety. nickelback is where he sucked despite pelini and his tard friends thinking otherwise.

I think he was throwing out a curveball, but McCray did fine at safety last year...nickel was the problem

+1, he was out of position last year. If he really is the best man for the SS job, then so be it. Whatever helps us win.

Oh God...

Coleman was taken out of the SS spot because he couldnt cover slot WRs. And they replace him with McCray??

im shaking my head bc the media would have us believe that it was a 2 horse race between taylor and hatcher with mccray on the outside looking in

3/4's of the people here don't know the difference between a NB and a SS

He may actually be much better at safety, but opposing coaches will find a way to make him cover and that is what makes me afraid.

Ik what you mean...but being a DB is being a DB.

Lets hope McCray makes us proud!

I'll still believe it when I see it

this could very well be a senior move that Miles is famous for... the guy has reportedly worked hard and done relatively well in fall camp, so Miles probably wants him to go down as the starter for his years of service

let's see how long it lasts

plus, didn't Miles say he won't know who will start until days before the game because any decision otherwise would be a premature one? ..which sort of validates McCray starting is a diplomatic move to reward his senior...but he may not play the most

my prob with mccray in nickel was that he was a bit of a tweener. too small for lb and too slow for a db covering guys in the slot. he may be fine as a ss but i was looking forward to seeing taylor out there

wrong.

McCray was a fine safety, but he couldn't cover a WR. Glen Dorsey was a fine DT. Would you ask him to play center? After all, an interior lineman is an interior lineman
