Everybody's entitled to their opinion i guess. I don't think his points will come to fruition however

Yes. He pretty much admits in the first line that he saw an article titled "Why I dont believe in OM" and the point of him downplaying LSU is to make his vagina feel better.

I've never been so proud in my life. I inspired an incredibly lame Ole Miss parody piece. All I really got from this is that he really, really, REALLY hates Les Miles.

He is an Ole Miss homer replying to an LSU article. What did you expect?

you have to know that us LSU fans have belittled, derided, made fun of and, in general, trashed Ole Miss for decades and they have usually lost to us and it pretty much caused them to die a million deaths inside. they're probably a little tired of it and if they beat us this year "you ain't seen nothin' yet"!

You don't? I "believe" a lot of what he said.

quote:

LSU went 8-5 (3-5) last year. That's a good year on paper, but losing an out of conference game to Appalachian State, North Texas, Tulane or Troy is a tough thing for an SEC team to do. Their three worthwhile regular season wins came against the powerhouses of Auburn, Mississippi State, and South Carolina. They regressed as the year went on, losing four of their final six regular season games. But they did beat Troy and Tulane! They weren't a top ten team last season. Hell, they weren't a top 25 team last season. They lost five games in a down year for the SEC which is terrible. People have written songs about that.

LSU lost their two best defensive linemen to the draft last season along with their best guard. That is not a loss a team easily recovers from. Tyson Jackson is gone, so their most important player departs. LSU is relying on reliable production from Al Woods (11 tackles in 2008) and Rahim Allen (who didn't start a game last year) on defense, and while both are supremely talented, the talented underproducer can be a terrible thing to pin your hopes on. (If you cite Rahim Allen's eight sacks, be prepared to hear about Hardy's 8.5 from last year)

I should mention the offense does return the truly electric Trindon Holliday, who rushed for 114 yards last year while receiving for 33. If I'm an LSU fan, he's the guy, outside of Black, I am most excited about returning (and being used incorrectly by my boneheaded coach). The guy is an explosive player and a threat to score almost every time he touches the ball (which was 23 times on offense last year). He's also 165 pounds (soaking wet) and it seems like it was a minor miracle he stayed healthy for a full season.

Our best guard? I completely skipped over that? I'm a huge fan of line play, but really? Our best guard? That ain't like losing Oher, which is what he was trying to parody. He also mentions Holliday instead of, I don't know, LaFell or Scott.

Like it or not I thought it was a well written article and most of his points were pretty much on par. However, I truly believe that the things that plagued LSU last year has been fixed. Most of the media sees this as well, hence the #9 position in the coaches poll. UF wouldnt have won with that QB play

That's funny. His proof that LSU will begin a decline is due to the play of one back-up running back that is backing up a first team all-SEC palyer. We're doomed...

I did write the ATVS post. And thanks. There's an off chance sportsline will be picking up my column on the toughest SEC venues (fingers crossed)

OK, another foolish weebel. He makes a great mistake in not accounting for our coaching changes, and the better leadership, and will to win which will become evident in 3 weeks and 5 days.
