It's basically the Big XII with LSU, Ole Miss, and Arkansas. Apparently they don't consider Louisiana, Mississippi, and Arkansas part of the South or they just ran out of teams...

it's done for balance....just like players from USC or UT-Austin playing for the "North" in the all star games.
