With single-game tickets going on sale this week, thought it a good time to get an update on where ticket sales are for the Huskies this year.
UW officials report that as of this week, the school has sold about 39,700 season tickets for this season to non-students. That's still down from last year's final total of 43,509, though Husky officials think sales will pick up again as the season nears.
As for single games, as might be expected, tickets for the opener against LSU went brisk, a lot, apparently, to fans of the Tigers.
UW officials say that there were more than 6,000 single-game tickets sold for the LSU game on the first day they were available this week (Monday). About 3,500 of those were sold to LSU (this is updated from the first post after additional informationn became available). Only about 1,000 unobstructed seats remain available for that game
This is from the Husky Football Blog of the Seattle Times.

That poor city better brace itself.

Before you get too excited, keep in mind that 99% of the people in Seattle don't give a shite about football! If you try to Tiger Bait them they will be clueless. This won't be your typical SEC football game site.

Haha it will still be funny to see their reaction to see 15,000 or so tiger fans being twice as loud as UW fans in their own stadium!

LSU purple and Gold will consume the Stadium. It will look good for our fans and LSU as a whole. Best Fans in the Country, LSU.

Who lied to you? The place is crumbling and not earthquake safe...

Is the stadium going to be able to support us?
They say its not earthquake proof. Do you think we can bring the house down?

My friend from Seattle just emailed us today with the status on our boat and trip plans and he said that every one he has talked to is amazed. He said that they are all telling him that this is the most excitement for a game that they have ever scene.

These ticket sale numbers are horrible, but you can expect Husky stadium to be rockin' come September 5th. The fan base still has a hangover from 4 years of Try Losingham. Many longtime season ticket holders finally sent a message by not renewing when Try was retained for a 4th year.

As for the poster who said 99% of people in Seattle do not care about football, they obviously have never attended a game at Qwest Field or Husky Stadium.
Qwest is considered the loudest stadiums in the NFL, and we always lead the league in false starts by opposing offenses.
As for Husky stadium, I believe it is still holds one of the loudest db ratings ever when it reached 130.8 vs. Nebraska in the 1992 ESPN night game.
I know LSU fans are passionate, but the sound does not carry from the opposing fans seat locations. What is unique about Husky stadium is nearly 90% of the seating capacity is located between the endzones, filled with Dawgfans.
It won't be as intimidating as a lot of the SEC stadiums, but to say it won't be very loud is a huge mistake.

Obviously you don't know much about lsu fans we get very loud. We played ga tech in Atlanta and during the pregame we were way louder. Our fans get louder than anybody.

Your are very right. When we are in an opposing teams stadium, we rise to the occasion and at points make the home town crowd envy us. The LSU crowd noise at Alabama in 2005 and 2007 was ridiculously loud.
