I love Shaq, but he wasn't even the best player on his team. He's certainly had the best career, however.

We can debate Pete and Shaq, but saying Shaq wasn't the best player on the team while he was at LSU is stupid.

I would take Chris Jackson, over Shaq at LSU.

Imagine if you are down by 1 point, with 8 seconds remain, who would you want to have the ball???

What about his 2nd year?

The answer probably depends on if you consider LSU career only, or if you include pro careers. If it is LSU only, it is Pete. If you include pro, it is Shaq.

Best player LSU and Pro is the Pistol for sure. Winning a championship does not automatically make you a good player.

Shaq never won a championship until he paired with Kobe and Wade.

Pistol averaged an alot of points in college and pros and he was a guard in a period without a three point line. Imagine how many points a game Kobe would average without the three. Maybe reduce his average by 10 points?

By sport based on pro and college play:

Basketball:
Shaq

Football:
Y.A. Tittle

Baseball:
Much harder question....hummm..Alvin Dark in a very close race with Walker and Adcock.

Doc it is hard to go with Doc Fenton, as while he coached 2 years of football after leaving LSU and did some ast. coach work at LSU; he did not play pro football, but may have played some simi pro baseball in the BR leauge.

Of the top 3 above Shaq has the edge due to pro championships as a player over Dark's championships in the office of the A's.

Tough to say. Perhaps Pete's total dominance at LSU is enough to outweigh Shaq's pro career. The guy is the NBA's 5th all time leading scorer behind Kareem, Malone, Jordan, and Chamberlain. That is pretty strong.

Shaq.

He is averaged 58% from the line. That is saying he should make at least one for the tie. Then you would have to assume if he got it deep down low he might score anyways.

true rantard speak. pete was great, but shaq is in the top 5 all time nba player talk. In his prime, shaq could not be stopped. Shaq would have made wilt look stupid IMO

I think Petey and Chris were both better than Shaq in college. But Shaq was better in the NBA.
