Does anyone know his situation? Was he able to get a redshirt for this year and play next year? Do you think he would even want to play next year?
He got one of the all time great screw jobs (I dont blame anyone for it, just bad luck)
He could definitely fill a hole next year.

Those are the type decisions the coaches are paid to make. No offense to Matt but it looks like PM made the correct one in this instance.

I would think a senior getting the boot would classify as being fricked over. I think if anyone, pontif should have been cut loose because he graduated last year

Gaudet was too hurt to play, he's still having some back issues

Gaudet was a senior who came from a Juco, Pontiff was a program guy who had been here for 4 years. So you think cutting an injured Gaudet was a screw job but cutting a 4 year, uninjured, program guy like Pontiff would not have been?

He is currently second in the Prospect League (formerly Central Illinois Collegiate) in HRs with 3 and is leading his team in hitting at .290

He did redshirt and is playing summer ball right now. He wouldn't have played last year because of the back injury anyway.

I know I don't have a link, but my friend talks to Matt every now & then. Matt is in touch w/ PM & it looks like he will be back at LSU. He was even in the dougout before the nc game started.

Probably true; however, Nick did make some significant contributions (more than just waving a towel on the bench) to the team throughout his 4 yrs here.
