The Longhorns posting today on the Forums are the classy ones....The Trash apparently have disappeared.

Anyway....The UT Longhorns did capture one record last night that NO ONE in the country can touch....

"The Longhorns had to settle for the sixth runner-up trophy in school history. No school has finished second at the CWS as many times."
.....This from the Austin Statesman site.

It's a good read....

Congrats Longhorns....and Way to go Tigahs!
One of the greatest CWS matches of all time!

Thanks! Yeah, it was a great year for Texas baseball. Had a weird team with little offense so you could say maybe they over-achieved some. All 4 of our main starting P's are back so perhaps these teams will meet again same time next year.

until then, as far as baseball.. I'm checking out. Monday's game especially took 10 years off me.

And congrats. LSU was clearly the best team in the tourney this year.

I am obviously proud of our Tigers, but also hats off to the Longhorns. first-rate program, talent, and coaching. And Lordy, do they have some talent coming back next year! Will Texas be the early #1 ranked team next year?

It's not too much of a reach to think that these two teams could possibly finish next year with an opportunity to face each other for all the marbles again!

Texas will return the vast majority of players from a young team.....and the Tigahs will reload as well.

In the meanwhile......I'm going to enjoy this one!

Great series Texas. You guys are legit, had me on the edge of my seat all week. Your pitching is unreal, Jungman is going to be something special.

Texas deserves a ton of credit for their efforts throughout the year and tourney. LSU is number 1, but Texas is right behind them. I loved how they battled it out throughout the year and in specific games where people wrote them off. That says a bunch about the caliber of athletes at Texas and Augie Garrido who has molded these kids into quality young men.

I might have hammered some of the idiot Texas fans who ran their mouths for what they said, believe me, we have our fair share as well, but certainly not the team, and program.

and Congrats on a Fine season Longhorns

LSU 6x National Champions: 1991, 1993, 1996, 1997, 2000, 2009

Texas 6x second place: 1953, 1984, 1985, 1989, 2004, 2009

LSU second place: never!

Nonetheless, 12 appearances in the CWS Championship game is quite a feat!

They had some talent in the left field stands as well. One girl with belly shirt and black tank top in particular.
