LSU had the majority by far. It was amazing seeing how many people without LSU gear on were pulling for the Tigers. We had 4 Nebraska fans sitting in front of us last night but they had bought LSU hats to wear to the game.

A lot of people in the Big 12 hate Texas.

Coming from someone who had to watch ESPN because I couldn't make the trip, what was the split? They didn't show the stadium much. I could hear it, but couldn't see it. Then again, even if we brought 20 people we would be louder.

If their football team displays the same sort of behavior, I can see why.

Only Texas fans like Texas, I think. LSU fans definately outnumber Texas fans here, and the LSU/Texas ratio for the locals may actually be more slanted toward LSU than with the visiting fan bases. There are quite a Texas fans in for the CWS, but from all that I've seen and heard, the locals pull for LSU.

It's my first time in Omaha and I didn't believe the stories about the town's love affair with LSU but, damn, it's true. Every word of it. Besides the Travlin' Tiger fans in the stands, there are a heck of a lot of Omaha residents decked out in P&G. I spent three hours at a steak house the other night - two eating a great steak and the third shaking hands with Omaha residents coming up to say they hoped we won. Trust me on this. Anytime the Tigahs play ball in Omaha, we're going to have more fans in the stands than any other team. Thanks, Omaha!!!

As I said before, Omaha loves LSU!! My daughter bought an LSU shirt the first day we went to a game this year, which was the TX-SMU game. She works at the zoo, see www.omaha.com/article/20090617/SPORTS99/706179775 She had her LSU shirt on under her zoo polo the day the team visited the zoo. I guarantee she'll be a fan for life.
We have tickets for tonight - we are not as accustomed to the heat as y'all (OK I was married to a southerner for a while...) May give them up to a "real fan" as some of you describe the LA folks... (Promise, I won't sell to TX fans!)

They showed a clip of ya'll in extra innings, standing up and jumping up and down yelling...it looked like a damn football game.

Even the announcers kept referring to the "pro LSU crowd". Erin Andrews said the crowd was heavily LSU in her opening segment and that even the Texas players commented on being the "underdogs" there.

It helps that Nebraska folks hate Texas, no matter who they're playing.

As much as Omaha loves LSU, we have an AF Base here where a LOT of the staff has come from TX. There are normally lots of cars with TX plates here. Don't think there are no TX fans here, but they are out-numbered.

Atleast on TV, Rosenblatt sound a hell of a lot like Alex Box.
