Is the property tax based on the value of the land or the land and what is on it? If I have 2 pieces of land next to one another, one with a nice house on it and the other nothing but dirt and the same size lot, would the taxes in EBR be the same? Thanks for your help, I am new at the property tax thing!

The one with the structure on it (ie, the improvement) will have a higher assessment. The value of the home will be factored into the taxes.

Are you living in this home? Do you have the homestead exemption for this home?

Unimproved land will not have much property tax. I have 6.7 acres of unimproved land and it is only $170/yr in property taxes.
