Will they be the softest team to win the championship?

It says more about the Magic than the Lakers IMO.

You can drop the IF. They will win. And I can't think of one softer. Have to go way Waaaaaaay back probably.

06 Heat weren't exactly tough guys. A lot of tough personalities, though.

If the Rockets without Yao and Kobe, can take this team to 7, this is the worst team to limp to a finals ever.

Yao doesn't get injured, they lose.

Two crappy Nuggets inbounds they lose.

A Courtney Lee layup and Dwight Howard free throw they lose.

The Showtime lakers were really really finesse......I sure as hell wouldn't call them soft though.

If the Lakers don't come back from 15 in the 4th of Game 7 against Portland in 00, they lose.

If the Lakers don't have Rob's shot in game 4 against the Kings, or without 40 FTs in game 6, they lose.

Champions seize opportunities. There are few teams this decade who have few "if's" surrounding them (2001 Lakers, 2004 Pistons being the only two)

Not gonna give the Spurs any love there buddy, maybe 2005 and 2003. 2007 had some iffy moments.

No

How about Boston last year being taken to 7 by the Hawks and Cavs. The 2000 Lakers were taken to 5 games in the 1st round by the Kings. There are other examples.

Are championship teams just supposed to dominate their way to a title every year?

This is just retarded. So you go off of last years comments about the Lakers and try and apply it to this years team. They had physical series with Houston, Denver and prevailed with scoring underneath by Odom, Gasol and Bynum. They have had a fairly physical series against Orlando and are currently up 3-1. I think the whole "soft" thing went out the window in the Houston series and they proved that even further in the Denver series.

2007 San Antonio is the only close one because of the sweep, but I thought they had a lot of trouble getting through the West that year. Correct me if I'm wrong, though.

Well put. I get so tired, of these lame as, "if" statements. It didn't happen, the Lakers seized their opportunities and won.

I dont know.

Kobe's obviously not soft.

DFish is obviously not soft.

Guys like Odom and Gasol who have been known as soft have stepped up HUGE in the WCF and the Finals, and they most certainly cant be thought of as soft in these playoffs.

Are you serious? Jesus follow basketball more before you speak on it. If Yao had been healthy the Lakers would have won quicker. That man was sucking wind so quick all the Lakers had to do is play a fast pace game to sweep their legs from under them. Once he got injured the Rockets were finally able to play that up tempo game. They were no longer down court short a defender, their center at that. Yao is a great player but a complete weakness against a fast opponent.

Yeah, that makes perfect sense considering the Rockets gave more trouble after Yao went down. It's all about matchups in the NBA and Yao being sidelined wasn't a good thing for the Lakers.
