Usually white with fish but does that count in this case?

I personally like a shiraz as long as the tuna steak is cooked well (med rare)

I gotta think it's too meaty for a white. I think I would serve a lighter red like a pinot.
I might be biased b/c pinot is my favorite wine, though.

drink whatever you like.
If you go with an acidic/critus sauce a white would make sense. If not, maybe a light red....but really, just drink what you like.

I like a heavier white or a lite red. Sparkling or Champagne works well too. Whatever works for your taste buds is what you should drink!

If you can find a nice Thunderbird circa 1980s that always impresses.

Actually seared some tuba last night and served myself a bottle of Saison Dupont belgian farmhouse ale. I have drank a Llano pinot grigio with the tuna in the past which was very good.

Nobody's mentioned sake?

if the tuna is a sesame tuna or nigiri, drink some sake. if its a tuna steak at a place with a louisiana creole flare of spices similar to toni's, drink a pinot grigio.
