NOTE: THIS IS NOT A FLAME, SO PLEASE SAVE ANY LAME RODENT JOKES!

Which 2-sport athlete would you rather have, Eric Decker or Jared Mitchell? Decision must be based on having him for both sports (i.e. can't choose one for football and one for baseball).

Stats for each:
Mitchell

I'll take Mitchell, he would probably have bigger numbers than your guy if he played for Minn and in the Big 11.

Cannot be determined by stats alone. Decker, like Mitchell, would not see the playing field much on LSU's football team due to the WR depth the last few years. So the football comparison is invalid.

Playing in the sec is definately alot tougher. But, this kid is a top 5 receiver for the 2010 draft. Not sure what kind of baseball player he is though. We will find out this weekend. That being said C.Jones gets my vote too.

I agree with both of these statements, however 1,000 vs 100 is a huge difference regardless of hypotheticals.

nice homerism. decker could have been, at least, the no.3 receiver for LSU last year

pretty good, considering he took off 2 years to concentrate on football and only plays from Jan-June. and yes, i understand jared does the same and i think he's a hell of an athlete.

i'd take decker (obviously) based on production, but for the record i'd give the advantage to decker in football and mitchell in baseball

I can handle this, but I dont think we need more depth at WR so Mitchell it is.

Maybe, but without consistent QB play, his stats would have been way down, just like LSU's #3 (Toliver or one of the Mitchells). No way he would have been ahead of Byrd or Lafell in 08, Doucet in 07, or Bowe or Davis in 06. So being #3 in 08 would not have worked for him...he wouldn't have gotten any catches.
