i just noticed that both fla and bama get the week off before we play them.

that definitely affects how i think things will play out. looking at when bama plays who, i think they'll win the west. they're schedule is a little more forgiving than lsu's. florida's schedule lines up very nicely.

georgia's first six games are brutal.

ole miss has a couple of tricky spots but they get a week off before bama whereas bama has ark and ky before ole miss. i think ole miss beats bama this year because of that.

ark and auburn have tough schedules in the middle of the season which i think give lsu the edge over both of them. this could be a rough year for both of them although i think both will be better than last season

Nah, no big deal. We'll steamroll everyone and it'll be amazing...oh wait, I forgot. John Brady's gone and this isn't basktball. Whoops, we're screwed.

I don't think Bama's too big of a deal, Tulane shouldn't be too bad the week before.

On the other hand, for the UF game, there's a huge difference between @Georgia and BYE.

I think the week off is an advantage to us and a disadvantage to them. Teams loose some of their mojo being off so long, and often it takes part of the game to get it back, if at all.

I like our schedule. It gets tougher and tougher, but when you play the teams we play, that's what it takes.

Hopefully Saban has Bama ready to play like he used to have LSU ready to play after a bye.

We'd come off the bye and play like dogshit.

Maybe. I'd have to see some numbers, but I don't think having an off-week is all that advantageous for the next game.

having an open date becomes much more important later in the season because it allows the team to rest and heal up. overrated, I think, in terms of individual games.

I don't think a bye for the Florida game comes into play so early in the season. Those byes are great only after midseason IMO. Last year look at our byes, and we were so rusty. These guys are well trained, much better than it used to be. It's the coaches jobs to utilize players correctly to avoid injuries. If we're up, or down, big, take out the starters and have them rest.

Bye week, no bye week....there is no such thing as an "easy" schedule in the SEC. LSU seems to play better as underdogs anyway. Bring it.

maybe not in terms of injuries but it does in terms of having an extra week to gameplan for lsu
