I just had a Dish Network rep tell me that Breaux Bridge, La. (where my little camp is considered to be) is not in the "viewing area" for Cox Sports such that I cannot get it on my satellite at my camp. What the hell? Anybody know a way to get around this stupid crap?

Change your service zip code to 70448 temporarily if that's possible.

That's what i did! Just change your zip code to a service adress within a 100 mile radius of New Orleans!

Thanks - I will do that. My camp doesn't have mail service anyway, so I don't see how it would matter.

Gotta love the informed posters of the Rant!

Anyone have any idea if Mississippi (Jackson) will be in the viewing area? Is contacting Dish the only way to determine this? I don't have Dish, but my cousin does. Didn't know if anyone in Mississippi had Dish and already knew this info. Thanks for the help.

Wait so you are telling me that there is a way I can change my zip code to the New Orleans area and get Cox Sports if I have dish network?

I just got off the phone with Disch and was told that Cox was only available in N.O. and that "technically and legally" I could not change the service address unless I moved the dish. I said "OK," I am moving it to my house in NOLA. The guy was then pretty cool with it and told me just to call back to confirm once I had "moved the dish" and that I should be all set. That should happen right after lunch, I'd say. Anyway, I am going to be doing some work at my camp this weekend so I hope it works.

Just tell them you need to change your service address, but keep your billing address the same. I live in New Iberia and my service address is in Batin Rouge 70801 i think. I just called and told them i need to switch my service address.

Do I need an actual physical address in New Orleans or Baton Rouge?? Or do I just need to say "I want to keep my billing address the same but change my service address to Baton Rouge 70801."

What if you just ordered an extra receiver and card to your home with the new orleans address and simply took it with you to the camp after it was added to your new orleans zip account. I know Direct charges an additional 6.99 a month for service every extra receiver. this may be an option.
