Austin Ross
Anthony Ranaudo
Louis Coleman

You can make a pretty good argument to pitch Coleman in game two. It's not uncommon to throw your best in this game.

Ross
Renaudo
Coleman

PM likes pitching Renaudo before Coleman incase he needs to bring in LC late in the first game.

Mainieri hasn't done that since the Georgia series. We have Matty Ott. Plus, it wasn't on back-to-back days like it will be in the regionals.

he hasn't had to do that since UGA, but he likes having the option. Atleast that's what he's said in a couple interviews the past few weeks.

And I'm talking about mid-to-long relief. Not a closing type situation.

Don't know if it's been discussed already but wouldn't we start Ranaudo, Coleman, and Ross in that order. For no other reason but to give those guys the same amount of rest for the supers.

Don't wanna waste Renaudo vs. lowly Southern

Not in a regional. Makes no sense to throw your best against the worst opponent. We're only talking about one day less rest.

Ross is a safe pick to pitch Friday but you cannot rule any team out at this point. Southern is not the Southern of 6 or 7 years ago but are capable of pulling an upset.

I do not think that it will happen, but you cannot sleep on anyone whose rolling out their number 1 arm.

If you stop and think about it there is no way that Mainieri would use Coleman in long relief during the regional. This is a lose and the season ends situation. You don't use up your 2 best pitchers in a single game. You'd be better off trying to win out of the losers bracket.

i don't think we waste coleman, renaudo, or ott in the first game. we shouldn't be a national seed if we can't beat southern without them. i know its baseball but thats just how i feel about it. i would think renaudo for saturday and coleman for sunday unless we wanted to start coleman in the first game of the super regional, but we do have to get there first.
