Does anybody know when the construction of the new band hall begins? I hope they go first class with this new facility they deserve it. New band hall also means a new tradition!! The band comprised of all brass and percussion, with the golden girls and flags of course. Anyway rock on tiger band, I wish that I had more money to give.

Who would play the melody when everyone is singing in the middle of Hey Fighting Tigers? Still need to keep the piccolos

I have never understood a dude playing a clarinet what’s up with that? Anyway all brass is the way to go, hell you could put the band outside the stadium for a football game and still hear them with seventy five more brass. If not then Rock on to all the hard leg clarinet players out there, got nothing but love for you.

I remember Dr. Moorehouse saying that if they like the bids that they receive, ground will be broken in 2010

Didn't they just finish a 4 year project on the school of music?

I probably could have played treble or bass clef baritone in TB....maybe, but probably not, tuba....probably not trombone but I can hack on it a little bit. I used to be able to wail on mellophone but I would never play that in TB...I was a beast in concert ensemble settings on french horn in HS though.

Well I was hoping they would break ground sometimes this year. But I guess just as long as it is a done deal 2010 works also. To all of the tiger band members past and present thanks for all the effort. To me the band is by far the best part of the LSU experience. The golden band from tiger land is a First class organization from top to bottom.

LRM once threw out the idea of an indoor field which I think is a bad idea. there's a reason the band looks good even in rain. one of the few that stay out to practice.

BTW, if grounbreaking is not until 2010, that means it wouldn't be ready for use until 2011, probably 2012. Way too long. A new Band Hall should have been built 30 years ago......

Maybe they can install a Field Turf field to help eliminate those ruts that form after marching pre-game several hundred times.
