Anyone know how much it costs to get popcorn ceilings redone (smoothed/painted)? I assume it would be priced per sq ft, but how much per sq ft?

Completely irrelevant, but whoever decided that popcorn ceilings were a brilliant idea needs to be shot.

Agreed. I have that shite in about 2/3 of my house.

There's a guy here in Austin who will remove it for $1.25/SqFt. I am pretty sure that doesn't include paint.

I have a guy in Btr that does it for me. If you need his name, let me know.

There was a funny story about cleaning ceilings on "At Home with Gary Sullivan", a radio show. Guy called in and said he had a candle floating in a bowl of melted wax on his piano. For whatever reason it exploded. Some wax ended up on the ceiling and hardened when it cooled. He was afraid to use anything abrasive to get it off. The solution... Steam Iron and Ladder.
