But, this makes the 3rd year in a roll LSU has got a commitment from the #1 ranked player in another state....

Virginia for this year.
I think he meant "a state besides LA", when he said "another state".

Not much difference between one and two, Simms is also good.

I think VA has too much pride to put a guy that looks like predator in the top spot.

Yeah, and Hunter is going to go up. If you disagree, you haven't seen his film.

Florida-Patrick Johnson (2008)
Texas-Russell Shepard (2009)
Virginia-Justin Hunter (2010)

Hunter is an amazing talent, but stealing VA's top player really doesn't compare to stealing the number one from FL and TX.

I think the bigger deal is that we are going a bit more national in our recruiting prowess. Plus Va is a pretty talent rich state in its own right FWIW.

Alot of talent in Virginia ...
Percy Harvin and Tyrod Taylor come to mind...Both #1 prospects in Virginia...

Good point.

It's no TX or FL in terms of talent and it's not like we had to battle an in state power like UT or UF/FSU/Miami to get him.
That's what I was basing my claim on.

Seems like we battled 15 or more other schools which included 2 Virginia schools and West Virginia for Hunter..
Huge pick-up for LSU...
