Sounds like JJ and JL are looking very good this spring.

I fully expect JJ to be the starter at the beginning of the season, but Lee is going to be very good when he gets the chance, which will give opposing defenses a lot to prepare for.

I'm more concerned about the defense, so this is good news to me. Even with the poor QB play, we could still score. Our main problem was that we could not stop anyone. With a new DC and what's sounds like renewed intensity on D, I'm feeling pretty good about next year!

very normal for D to dominate early in spring.....I did enjoy watching that JJ replay of the Chick Fil A bowl game.....he looked like a vet that game, and if he can learn the offense even better, he looks like a gamer....

more trips to Baton Rouge from OKC for me in the future to see these guys play....should be fun!

Lee didn't look very good in the scrimmage. He threw 2 picks (back to back throws), one for 6

i could see miles using both of them sort of like flynn/perilloux in '07 but this time JJ gets more reps and JL comes in as a change of pace off the bench. If RS is gonna be playin some QB too then maybe we should contact Spurrier about how to effectively rotate QB's

Did you actually see it or are you just reporting what you read here?

Personally would feel more comfortable if Shepherd or Garrett were also game ready by the conference start. Not as starters but on contingency.

That's an excellent question...he had a pretty slow release last year.

Of course we need a back-up QB. But, what do you think Lee provides as a challenge to opposing defenses that Jefferson doesn't provide?

stronger arm. I think when Lee gets "in a zone", we could be almost unstoppable. Now, whether or not he can get there is another matter.

I think that's totally bogus. Jefferson got the ball to receivers in tight spots, and certainly while on the move, better than Lee. Also, "mechanics aside", do you maintain that Lee has a stronger arm than Jefferson, which almost all Lee supporters subscribe to, and which I dispute?

fair enough. I don't see it from last year.

there's probably no real difference in arm strength, Lee's advantage over Jefferson is the quick release and accuracy which is very beneficial on the quick slants. Jefferson appears to have better instincts and can tuck and run.

I've watched the GT game maybe 10 times now and this simply isn't true. JJ has pretty good mechanics including great arm strength. I would also venture to say he has a better arm than JL.

Pipe dream, man. No team will have a 3rd string frosh QB that will be "game-ready" for conference play. We're in a pretty good position with 2 QBs with significant conference playing time.
