Just was informed softball game tonight was cancelled due to right field fence blowing away and possibly some other issues.

No, they actually cared about the new box so they built it sturdier than tiger park.

I heard Tyler Hanover went outside last night during the storm and threw a 80 mph fastball against the wind.

Just in case anyone want to see the official release...

LSU SPORTS INFORMATION

For Immediate Release March 26, 2009

STORM CAUSES DAMAGE TO SEVERAL LSU ATHLETIC FACILITIES

BATON ROUGE – The storm that blew through Baton Rouge overnight caused damage to several athletic facilities on the LSU campus, which included ripping a portion of the roof off of the indoor football facility.

Other facilities that suffered damage due to the storm include the LSU Soccer Complex, the new Alex Box Stadium and the new Tiger Park.

The LSU Soccer Complex looks to have sustained the most damage as the grandstands and press box were toppled and destroyed. A good portion of the soccer bleachers were sitting upside down at center of the soccer field this morning.

The damage at both new ballparks – Alex Box Stadium and Tiger Park – was minor and is in the process of being corrected. Damage at both parks included having a portion of the outfield fence toppled over. There was no structural damage done at either facility.

“We are accessing the damage and trying to get what we can corrected immediately,” associate athletic director Eddie Nunez said. “We already have crews in place working on the damaged areas. We expect to get the outfield fences at both baseball and softball fixed quickly.”

LSU’s other athletic facilities, including Tiger Stadium, appear to have come through the storm with little or no damage.

Advocate says the light tower in right-center at the Box is not working. Even if the weather holds up, this could affect the Ole Miss
game Friday night.
