who else is excited??? the JOHN CENA stars in the action packed thriller twelve rounds! cena previously starred in the marine, an underrated oscar snubbed drama. what are the chances the academy recognizes greatness this time around?

As long as Cena is the main star, they will not even watch the preview.

That pisses me off. if they ever want people to start taking those awards seriously again they need to start giving some love to non-mainstream movies

Awe well get mad. Listen he needs break through performance before he can be considered for an Oscar. He has not had it yet. He has not had a role where there was a buzz about his performance. Looking at the trailer, this one is not going to do it either. He is an action star. Not often do you see these huge action flicks get an Oscar buzz. If you are being serious about him getting recognition he needs to do more dramatic roles with less explosions. These kind of flicks though will probably never get him a major award.

"Star" is kind of a stretch...he's been in a couple of action movies, I'll give him that.

I guess your timing was a little off for this comment though. Have you heard of a movie called Slumdog Millionaire? It's budget was like 15 million dollars which is considered low in the film business. It started off by entering film festivals and word got out that it was a good movie. It was not even in every city in the country when it was announced as being up for Oscar awards. Then it went on to win like 8 academy awards. I think this one goes against what you just said. Little Miss Sunshine was like an 8 million dollar movie. It went to film festivals and ended up being nominated at the Academy awards. Again though these stories were more serious and not a not based around action. Die Hard was one of the best action movies and even that was not up for best movie or any acting awards.

I was doing some lurking and this thread inspired me to join TD.com. John Cena is by far the best action hero of our generation! I cannot wait for March 27th to see his new blockbuster 12 Rounds. I am a huge supporter of the Louisiana Film Industry and this film was shot in New Orleans. Even if for some God awful reason you are not a Cena fan, you should hit the theaters and support our great state!

His delivery seemed pretty stiff in the trailer. Steven Segal/Jean Claude Van Damme is probably the highest level of cinematic success he can hope for.

These guys were terrible actors and should not even be mentioned in the same sentence as the GREAT John Cena.

I'm not sure about plot, but it's sure to have stellar acting.

I can't stand John Cena, talking about someone the WWE is trying to force down everyone's throat.

Is this movie where he is a cop whose girlfriend gets kidnapped?

And wasn't The Marine about a marine whose wife gets kidnapped?

Please correct me if I'm wrong but I thought that's what I saw on the trailer.

The only reason I might watch this movie is because it was filmed in New Orleans
