I'd like to open a side business that I could run while still keeping my full time job. What are the best ideas?

Self serve car wash?
Storage buildings?
Laundromat?

Something else?

Nothing.
Businesses are failing at record numbers.
SIT on your cash.

What's so bad about your life now, that you want to burn through your cash (read-your security-your sense of peace) on some half-baked "absentee business" idea?

Prostitution. There's a reason it's the oldest profession: It's recession AND depression proof!

right now?

bankroll a bankruptcy lawyer, but you have to be careful how you do this. you have to lend him money and can't own any part of the firm

or start up a check cashing place

or start up a dollar general and locate it in the right place

Not totally absentee, but those guys that set up honor snack boxes at small offices do alright. and it's all cash

Thanks Cash. That's kind of what I think too, but I wouldn't be opposed to buying some type of existing business. I'm even fine with breaking even on monthly notes as long as I'm building equity.
