In Jackson's defense

I've know Lance (Janzen's dad) my whole life and didn't and still don't think he's is a liar. I really think they felt that playing for Tennesse and Montie Kiffin was in Janzen's best interest. Having said that I am dissapointed that they didn't clue in LSU earlier about him having second thouhgts and it looks bad with Lane Kiffin's short but dishonest record in the SEC. I feel for Miles and LSU but I still hope the best for Janzen, he's just a kid give him a break. Besides when they come to Tiger Stadium in 2010 he'll realize he made a mistake.

Here's the problem. It appears, on the surface anyway, that this is not just a situation of choosing one over the other, but one where they took a path calculated to harm LSU. I doubt the situation would be nearly this controversial had the commitment been handled differently. All the factors in their lives lead to the conclusion that UT is probably a better fit, but don't harm LSU in the process.

How can you say he didn't mean to hurt LSU? The guy purposely waited for Myles to get his LOI in to Tenn. Why not just tell LSU the night before? LSU could have possibly gotten on to the Myles kid. That Jackson kid, his dad, and the Tenn coaching staff pulled a pretty crappy thing on LSU. I'm sure there are a few high school coaches that thought that was a pretty bush-league thing to do.

We had several players decommit. Farrell, Oreleus, Wooton. We may have been disappointed but we didn't drag them over the coals. JJ deserves to be criticized for this. If you are going to Tennessee because that is the best fit for you....Fine. No problem. Good luck. If you know a week out, just let us know. Don't tell Les the night before that you are still solid to LSU when the paperwork is already at Tenn. Both of them lied about it.

This is my first post but this is not Lance. Don't get me wrong they handled it very badly. I grew up in Welsh with Lance and went to McNeese at the same time.

I never said he didn't mean to hurt LSU. It appears that the Kiffin's got to him and who knows what they planned. I agree, he should have decommited or at least gave LSU a heads up.

Besides I think Miles got a damn strong recuiting class. I can't wait until the seaon so we can win the West again. I think Saban is in for a long year, he got lucky last season.
