Wii lsu have a better or worse team. If tm goes, only proven player will be the point guard.Bo will the man, but he can not carry a team.

it's pretty much a given next year's team will digress without a stellar recruiting class...coach J has a slim shot at the #2 overall player in the nation...also a 5-star in cali has us in his top 5...we will need to get at least one of those players to compete for another tourney run

we only get back spencer & tasmin and our freshmen who have really contributed very little so far

Worse definitely. You don't lose 5-6 players and get better typically. Especially knowing Trent got a late start in recruiting after a regime change this year. We might only sign 3 guys.

That is an interesting response. It is amazing how many ranters don't seem to give the same consideration to Brady, He was also hired in late March of 1997 and got a late start on recruiting. He scrambled to sign a grooup of leftover JUCOs to complete his first roster. The following fall he was able to sign Stromile Swift, Jabari Smith, Jermaine Williams, Marquis Ledoux, Brad Bridewater, CT III, Brian Beshara transferred. the result was the 2000 Sweet 16. The next year they lost Stromile Swift and Jabari Smith plus Lamont Roland and Bridgewater suffered season ending knee injuries. These factors and NCAA sactins resulted in them playing the SEC schedule with only five scholarship players.

Yet many ranters treat all 10 seasons like they were played under normal circumstances while already starting the apologies for Trent. Just saying.

Where would TM go? He isn't transferring and he isn't much of a NBA prospect.

You took the words right out of my mouth. I'm amazed at how many people on this board really think that Tas would get drafted this season with only 2 rounds of NBA draft (and only the first round offers guaranteed contracts).

Next year's team should have a lot lower expectations, but you never know if we get a true freshman surprise. I wouldn't rule it out with Coach Johnson as our leader.

Unfortunately I say worse. Only because of all of the talent we loose. I think our fundamentals as a whole will be better, but damn we loose a ton of guys!!!

Whatever, we are in a much better situation than when Brady was a HC here.

I think we may drop off a little..... Hopefully Taz will be back, that way he and Bo will carry the team. I expect Storm to have a breakout year next year. One or two good prospects getting signed wouldn't hurt the cause either. I believe Trent has already thought about this and will start preparing in due time. I think he wants to finish this year as strong as he can which is why he doesn't play the young guys as much. I believe in TJ and so I think the LSU basketball team is here to stay.

The way Bo Spencer has been shooting the ball, I wouldn't be surprised to see him move over to shooting guard with Chris Bass at the point. I predict the starting line-up to be:

PG: Bass
SG: Spencer
SF: Graham
PF: Mitchell
C: Green

or

maybe a three-guard lineup, switching Dotson with Graham.

Of course, this assumes we don't sign some all-american post player.

Much in the same mold as CJ, tall and skinny. Hopefully LSU will have better success putting some weight on him.

He played forward in HS. Shoots well from the outside and can handle the ball. Definitely not a post guy, maybe he can develop into a power forward.

So in other words, you would prefer Brady be our coach still?
