Not a perfect list of suggestions.
Selecting just 4 is pretty tough... I'm curious how everyone's selections will differ and why.

Bill Russell was only born in Monroe, I think he grew up in the Bay Area

Yeah, I don't think anyone associates Bill Russell w/ Louisiana (may not even Bill Russell).

Eddie Robinson should be first.
Pistol Pete second.
Bill Russell, Shaq, Skip, Cannon, Bradshaw, and Peyton Manning could all occupy the last two spots.

kinda skimpy bio for Malone, who grew up and played CBB in LA, but then they list Peyton's accomplishments. I'm no big Malone fan, but he was one the NBA's all time scoring leaders, an MVP, and perennial All Star.

While he might not make the final four, Jim Taylor must be mentioned.

Terry Bradshaw
Lou Brock
Pete Maravich
Eddie Robinson
Those are my 4.
Tough to leave off Shaq, and a few others, but these guys deserve it.

I love Marshall, but I can't place him in the top 4.
His achievements do not rise to the level of those I selected. A wonderful player nonetheless.

I know I am biased but have trouble voting for anyone not affiliated with a Louisiana college. LSU and professional greats are an added bonus. The only exception might be Eddie Robinson.

Exception to what?

Almost impossible to argue against Eddie Robinson.
He is the definition of an all-time great.
The real question is who are the other three?
