Saban - he quit on the team at halftime when he said in the interview that the second half was up to the kids - he had shown them what to do, so, it was in their hands (he was too busy heading to the airport for Miami - he shouldn't have received a paycheck for that last month).

Ronnie Prude was covering the flats on the last play of the game, what a tard. FWIW you could see on the replay that it was offensive pass interference.

Keron Gordon had safety help I believe. I dunno...saw that game once. That and '02 Arkansas will never be watched by me again.

why did you want to know?
A friend of mine kept trying to blame it on Webster and I knew it wasn't him, but I couldn't remember who it was.

Blame the defensive coverage on Saban from the "gitgo" of the game. IOWA couldn't run the ball all year, but in the CAPITAL ONE BOWL they ran all over LSU. Because of this LSU had to play "catch-up" until LSU succeeded in going ahead late in the game. Giving up the "Hail Mary" on the final play was just "icing on the cake" for the 2004 season. How many times did LSU have the opposing teams offense with a 4th and long situation and the offense was successful on making first downs. 4th and 17 comes to mind against AUBURN in 2004!
Buz (forget 2002, 2004 and SABAN)

Yeah, I know what you mean. I think just about all of LSU's losses to Big Ten teams could have been easily been avoided--the Iowa last-play loss in 2005 comes to mind, of course...a crazy loss to Indiana in the late 1970s...two games blown in the last-minute against Ohio State in the late 1980s (fortunately, one of those games ended in a tie rather than a loss, but LSU had the ball on OSU's 3-yard line with seconds remaining and then still nearly lost it after a long interception return)...
