My wife and I just got back from Tokyo Cafe, which is across from Perkins Rowe on Bluebonnet, and the food and the service was excellent. Large portions and a wide selection of sushi and sashimi. I highly suggest The Mardi Gras Roll and The Cowboy Roll. The Hibachi looked and sounded fun, but we weren't in the mood for that tonight. This was the best all around Sushi experience I've had in Baton Rouge so far. Very Very Good.

oh and...for an awesome appetizer, it's hard to beat the Sizzlin Squid.

I find Sushi Yama to be the best. I prefer Toyko over Ichiban who I find has fallen off a lot in the past year. The cowboy roll is a great roll. The mardi gras roll I do not remember seeing. The Dancing roll is very good too and the Dynamite roll gets my vote for best value in BR.

OMG not that crap.. Tsunami is VERY average sushi with a great view.. They dont come even close to Yama, Toyko, Ichiban or Derek Chang. Simply some of the most overpriced sushi and average sushi I have had in this state. Basically its become a place where college students go where they think they are top shite while they eat what they believe is good sushi.

My list:

1. Ichiban
2. Tokyo
3. Sushi Yama

4. Kamado's
5. Thai Kitchen
6. Tsunami

7. Nagoya
8. Drunken Fish
9. Kona

* am trying Koi and Sake Cafe soon.

The first three are very good...I'd eat at any of them, anytime. Drunken Fish is a joke and the smallest portions of sushi you will see. I thought Kona was gross...didn't enjoy it. Nagoya is a buffet and is better than those two.

I also won't go to Hello Sushi...based on the fact that everyone on board hates it.

Sushi Yama is the best by a wide margin., based on fish quality alone.

Tokyo's atmosphere is better than Ichiban and Yama, IMO. It's always a pleasure to dine in whereas Yama is more of my "to go" call.

To me, Ichiban and Sushi Yama are about what and what. Both always taste fresh.
I haven't been to Yama since the expansion... I've heard it looks nice.

fixed it for you.....and I was throughly unimpressed with their sushi.

I wasn't a fan of ichiban at all. Eagerly waiting for Tokyo, Sukura and Wahada.

Love Tokyo! Its hard to go anywhere else! last two times i went the waitress gave us miso soup on the house. And she remembered what we ordered the previous time we were there.

Kamado is getting no mention, but the sushi is really good there. Still, Koto is the best.

I am a Koto fan. I like the passion of the owner. For my quick fix, Koi has not been dissapointing. I am hoping that Wahada and Hello Sushi shut down before they poison someone.

I will have to try KOTO. I take it that this place has had quite a facelift since, say, 1999-2000?
