this song was released in 1993

anybody know the first year it was played in Tiger Stadium?

I remember it at the beginning of the Saban years, but was it played before that?

The sooner that song dies its natural death and disappears from the face of the earth, the better off we all will be.

Don't hold your breath. That song has been a fixture at Alex Box for years.

It's pretty sad that people go crazy over that song just because of its title and the fact that Louisiana is mentioned in it.

Maybe if they would play a trio of that song, Huey Lewis' Heart of Rock and Roll and Janis Joplin's Bobby Magee as a trio, people would be having an orgasm.

"Oh my GOD! They mentioned Baton Rouge!"

It started around 2002, before that they opened with a video montage set to a song they used in the Matrix soundtrak.

BTW You people are a bunch of Piss Clams Callin Baton Rouge is a cool song. Stop listening to you master and learn to enjoy all genres of music.

+1
All that canned music is okay at an NFL game, but in Tiger Stadium I wanna hear the band.

i honestly think the entire atmosphere of TS has gone downhill since these were installed in 2000. Everyone watches the replays instead of making noise now, generally speaking

I actually like Doug Kershaw's cover better than Garth Brooks' and I wish they'd play it in TS for a change of pace.

Okay, stone me now.

you do realize this song is played before pregame when band is headed towards the field.

I dont like country music, but you geeks are in the minority for hating this song,, look around most people seem to really enjoy it. LINK

True...I don't even want to get started on the crap I hear at the Box. View from the Cheap Seats and anything by Jimmy Buffett would be the first things I could clear out...
