re: Worst Saints Player Ever

Russell Erxleben, K/P, New Orleans Saints (1979) he was the worst saints player ever 11th pick in the draft and my grand dad said he missed a 10 yard field goal with nobody around him. I wasnt born then but my grandpa told me he sucked.

Most of the responses would lead me to believe most ranters are only looking at the last 5-10 years. I had earlier said it was a toss-up between Johnny Poe & Russell (Oops)slaban, but if you have been a Saint fan from the beginning, you can pretty much look at almost all our 1st round picks as total 'busts'. Someone did mention Larry Burton, & yes, he was one of a long line of 1st round picks that did NOTHING. The Saints made a long history of drafting guys who couldn't catch, throw, block or tackle...real credit to all of us true Saint fans who have stayed with the team since the beginning. I have lived in Houston for a number of years, but will always remain a true Saints fan, it's in my blood.
