They are oftened overworked on defense in practice (they said much more so than Pelini)
I had no idea the respect the players had for Pelini. Many still keep in touch with Pelini to this day. They didnt necessarily like the scheme but they had confidence in him and the gameplan and they gave 110% for him.
Many shouting matches between CoDCs and players. Its pretty bad
I have heard very similar comments. There is no respect from the team for the Defensive staff. Players look lost on gameday because they are! There is little to no coaching going on Defensively.

why? we need a good coach, there are plenty of assholes, we need a coach, good attitude or bad, why was it not okay to hire him last year? Does losing mean we lower out standards or something?

No, it is because after 7-5 and a bunch of nice guys on ths staff we realize we miss Pelini's fire.
We need a few coaches that will get in the players face if need be.

Yes, that pretty much sums up what was described to me by players.
Also, I'll say this again, According to players the entire defensive staff will be going. Now that doesnt mean that they wont be retained in any other places but I was told they are all expecting new coaches. They told me that they wouldnt know until Jan. But like I said thats always subject to change.
