Did anyone see Gangland - New Orleans on History channel?

Made New Orleans look worse than usual.

Comes on again at midnight tonight.

I heard of the "Gotti Boys" in rap music, but had never heard of them as a gang(not affiliated with John Gotti). Each person just bragged about how easy it was to beat a murder rap in New Orleans.

The "sixty-day rule", in which the DA had to indict a suspect within 60 days or the case was dropped. The gangs intimidate witnesses or flat out kill them, then get away. One gangsta who did get caught, only did seven years for manslaughter.

NOPD refused to be interviewed, but James Berzanni (former FBI head in NOLA) was featured through out the show. Definetly interesting.

The History Channel kicks arse
If you didn't see it set your DVRs to History Channel at midnight.

Yeah I liked how the gang members were speaking "English" but there had to be sub titles to comprehend what they were saying.

Thanks for the heads up, I will watch the replay. Saw something where CNN is running a crime in N.O special on Sunday evening as well. I think it may be at 6 or 7 pm if I saw it right.

Anyone who takes seriously anything broadcast over the History Channel has some serious intellectual shortcomings.

The History Channel is nothing but pseudo-academic entertainment delivered to lazy consumers who wish to consider themselves intelligent.

Because of this problem, the Legislature has since changed it to 120 days.

I may watch it. I like learning about cultures like that which, fortunately for me, I never have and never will experience.

TulaneLSU, you think that being gone as long as you have been might have changed your ways but I think that there is no hope for you!

Who says you won't experience it? I hear they're having an admissions drive through the end of the month. You should sign up.

I don't know, the one guy from the Melphamene, that they kept showing, he was a little hard to follow. Everyone called him "the landlord" because he been living in the same projects since 1975.

Another guy said "most people only paid $75 rent", "now they got to pay $1200 to $1500" , "u get it how you live".

Basically saying its only going to get worse because they tore the projects down.

Another part was that Houston's strict "failure to co-operate with police" laws make it harder for people not to snitch. Which sounds like a good idea to adopt.

That was the episode name BTW "Die, Snitch, Die".

What, you couldn't throw Fox News in there too with the bashing.
