For those with advanced finance degress .... I need advice.

I'm returning to school for either my MSF or my MBA.
Anyone here have advanced finance degrees? Advice? Recommendations? Things you would do differently? Important lessons that you learned? Difference between your time in undergrad and grad?

I would recommend an MBA to those without a business undergrad degree. It is a broad overview, which was useful for me after an engineering undergrad. However, covering that many topics does not leave enough electives to truly specialize in a certain area of interest -- such as Finance.
Therefore, I would think that somebody who already has a business undergrad degree would benefit much more from a specialized degree (Masters in Finance, e.g.). Why get a Finance MBA when you can get an MS in Finance? You already covered the basics of the other MBA material in undergrad anyway.

An MBA is not an advanced Finance Degree. At a full time program you might be able to specialize some there, but it's hardly advanced finance. An MBA is for overall business management.

Some MSF programs are small and students take most of the same classes with the MBAers. I am told this is true of LSU's program.
Depending on how things fall, I may have to attend a university that doesn't have an MSF program. My only option would be an MBA with a specialization in fiance.
Also, a lot of programs are quant based, and that's not what I am looking for at this time. I may change my mind. That's why I am seeking the opinions and experiences of the board.
