4th down and 12 lapse at Auburn

Buzzsaw at Georgia who pretty much focused their whole season on that game

Hail mary in Cap. 1 bowl amidst massive holding

Total defense is nice but to me the more important stat is scoring defense.

After all, the point of the game is to stop the other team from scoring.

If you score 20 points as a team and only give up 100 yards but more than 20 points, you'll lose.

But if you were to give up 300+ yards and under 20 points, well, you get the point.

Defense will not consistantly improve until Miles pulls the plug on Mallveto, hires a top notch DC AND we start having a more balanced approach to recruiting linebackers and defensive backs. Got to have a good mix of speedy athletes and smart football players that make plays, a la Arnsparger and Saban. Both will have to happen......

27th is not THAT bad, considering that talent and experience we lost after last year.

If we had a better DC, with our talents, we could have been ranked in top 5.

Just an exception to prove the rule. My sophomore year at LSU the Tigers finished the season #1 in scoring defense, gave up only 50 points the whole season, but only won 5 games. Check it out - 1960.

There is no excuse for the defense being this bad, this late in the year. There is some youth, but there is also a lot of experience.

Seems to work for LSU, although did Steltz play when we had Laron Landry?

Ture, although I dont remember Saban stocking up on great LBs either. Faulk and James was about it. Why doesnt LSU get good LBs??
