Say what you will about our starting QB, but he proved something to me on Saturday night.
Imagine, if you will, being a Freshman QB that has had a difficult introduction to SEC football, at least 1 year earlier then anticipated. You have just finished playing in (and by most accounts, losing) the most anticipated non-championship game in school history.
You read in the paper the following week comments from one of your starting wideouts, blaming you for the loss, and then you then take the field and get booed in AT HOME during the introductions.
You then play maybe the worst 1st half the the history of LSU QBs and lead your team to a huge deficit to a team the LSU simply cannot lose to...
Do you think you could come out of the locker room and overcome the lack of effort by your senior starting WR and lead the most incredible comeback in LSU history (arguably)?
I don't think there is one person that posts negative things about him on this site, or boos him in Tiger stadium that could have collected themselves and performed the way he did...even if they had the same level of talent that he has...
That was an amazing turn-around, and I think all Tiger fans should recognize the accomplishment.
The jury is still out about whether he will ever be a consistent and effective QB at LSU. One thing is for sure, however, if he doesn't become a great QB, it won't be because he lacks heart. I am as proud of the game he played last Saturday night as I have been of any tiger player...ever.
Just my 2 cents.

I know Lee has struggled this year but I like him. Watch him after the plays he goes up to the receivers and always high fives them or something. He seems like he really enjoys it.

Dude has got grit and moxie, love that about him.
He will be an excellent quarterback before his time is up at LSU.

Lee is the classic example of the 2 steps back before you take 1 step forward mindset.
JJ and Shepard have their work cut out for them....don't kid yourself thinking otherwise.

what was he displaying for the first three quaters?
sorry. had to say it.
i got to give it up to him though, he had a heck of a fourth quater. and i no that was tuff on him, bc i was booing the crap out of him from the 40 yard line.

Fixed it.
Sure, Lee has had some times where he obviously looked as bad as a QB can look, but he has flashes of greatness too...that's what's so infuriating about him

Why are you so proud of that?

At least you are optimistic.
I look at it like he came out in the 3rd and still didn't do shite. With less than 2 minutes left in the third, they were down 31-3 until JJ scored and made it 31-10. We don't know what Lee was really thinking. He could have just took the mindset that he had played poorly and we were headed for another loss. He got a chance to get back in and had no pressure. Say what you will but there is no doubt that some players thought we were headed for a loss. JL started to get it going and things started rolling. At some point they started thinking they could win and they did.
He does not display anything special IMHO. He has a good arm but is not mobile. He is not really a play-maker which is what really separates great QB's from average ones. Everyone keeps commenting on how he comes out and still takes the field no matter what. UH, as opposed to what? You think he would refuse to start or go in and play? He is on scholarship and he plays because he is the starting QB.
He may end up being better but he probably won't be GREAT. I don't look for him to be invited to NY for the Heisman presentation.

I don't think I said anything about Heisman trophies...
You can try to give JJ credit for the 1s TD...he did score it, but would not have without the plays that Lee made. He made some tremendous throws during the 2nd half of that game. He is a playmaker, but he still makes too many bad ones. The pressure Tiger "fans" have helped to put on him.
He has great potential, and I hope he realizes it, because he and either JJ or Sheppard could be a nice combo for a very diversified offense.
