I'll bet the farm that before the Georgia game if anyone had said would you accept 38pts and 500yds. of offense, we all would have. Even if we would have known that 2pick sixes were involved. The reason we take that is two fold. One we believe we have one of the top two or three defenses in the country, at least that is what we were led to believe with 8deep on the d-line alone. Supposedly, we have several pre season everythings not to mention NFL 1st and 2nd rounders. Folks the defense gave up a hundred in two games. I know we gave up the two picks against GA. but GA. throttled down towards the end of the game or they would have hung 60 on us. Secondly, any team with a freshman qb is going to experience growth pains. But, when Lee does make a mistake he doesn't go in the tank! He continues to fight, as we would expect. Without him, where would we turn? Please don't say Jefferson cause he will be great but not ready now. So, why bash Lee when he is the best chance of winning that we have? Secondly, this vaunted defense needs to help out the freshman.

Lee is tied with Tebow for having thrown the most TD passes in SEC games so far this year.

You tend to rack up yards when you are constantly playing from 14 down. I think both are equally at fault, the QB and defensive play.

Minus (a) 21 pts directly attributable to 3 "pick 6's" and (b) at least another 9-12 points on FG's being set up by interceptions.

OK Hootie that accounts for about 30pts out of over a hundred. That leaves about 70 for the D. Are you then saying you're ok with the d given up 35 a game?

No I'm not. But we would have one 1 of the 2 losses if we limited the other team's scoring to just against our defense instead of our offense. Our offense can't tackle.

Then you're an idiot.

Lee's half-assed pick 6 versus Auburn, and his opening throw of the game versus Georgia, were just freshman mistakes. He was wide-eyed and timid, wasn't really into the flow of the game, and the other team ate his lunch.

But half of his interceptions were when the game was already out of reach. I mean, shite, if it looks like you're going to lose anyway, why not take some chances downfield? frick, man.

Lee is sharing time with Hatch, and he's still #1 in the SEC in TD passes, #2 in yards, and #3 in yards per attempt (#4 if you include Garcia). All things considered, not horrible.

All things considered, the defense IS horrible. One of the worst in LSU history.

God, that's such a stupid statement.

Does that stat consider which team scores the TD?

At this point, no, but it's close. I might change my mind by the end of the regular season.

and this is your justification for him not being at fault here. please, come on dude. lee has play like shite the entire season so far. byrd and lafell has made him look good in most of those TD's. IMO, he is just as much the blame as Miles, the defense, and the Co-DC's.

I actually feel sorry for Byrd. This was suppose to be his break out year and he is far from that due to piss poor play from the QB position. Before the season, I saw Byrd as a first round draft pick and now he'll go either second or third.

I didn't realize you were a draft guru.

Are you Mel Kiper Jr?

Mel Kiper isn't either. Mark my words son. His draft stock has dropped significantly.

Pre season predictions by most of media. But you are probably not old enough to stay up and watch sports center.

Nothing you can do this season, but let the rookie play. Before the season even started I already expected us to go 9-3. But I would give JJ a shot and give him some live game time experience just in case Lee doesn't show progress leading up to next season.

Well Hammond I can't say the Def. is not more than 70% of our problems, but I respect your opinion even though I may not agree.

Lee has thrown 28 points to the other team this year, so for all of the Lee avg. pts per game stats be sure to include the 28 pt deduction
