I hope LSU plays in the bowl formerly known as Citrus or the former Hall of Fame Bowl. I like their chances much more vs. an opponent from the Slow 10. An invitation to the Cotton Bowl would most likely mean playing someone from the Diminutive Dozen Southern Div. Those teams throw the ball constantly & would pick apart LSU's weak secondary. I can't attend any of those so that's not a factor for me.

I would prefer the BCS title game.

I'd hate to see this defense against a Big12 offense this year, so no Cotton.

I hope LSU plays Minnesota, and the Gophers win . Probably won't happen, but bigger upsets have happened in bowl season (BSU, WVU, Mich) just in the last few years

I'd like to play a Big 12 team in the Cotton, and I think far and away that is the most likely scenario. Oklahoma would great...it would be like a BCS matchup.

Nobody else in the West will go to a bowl, so they will want LSU. The SECCG loser and the #3 team from Georgia/Florida/Bama will get the Florida game bids.

Besides, do you really want to play Minnesota or Michigan State? What the frick will we learn about the program from that game?

actually, last time we went to capital one bowl there were a ton of lsu fans there, in the city, at the amusement parks, and at the game. id like bcs game, but if i had to choose another one it would be the capital one bowl just cuz there's so much there to do before the game, make a vacation out of it. all the other places are boring as hell. plus isn't the capital one bowl the best non bcs bowl?

Any New Year's Day game is great. My least favorite, but most likely, scenario is us ending up in the Cotton Bowl. I don't like the idea of us going up against any of the top tier Big 12 teams...unless something really cool happens to our defense in the second half of the season.

Right now, we're the #4 seed with bama left to play. Losses to UF and UGA,and wins over Auburn and USC put us there.

A number 4 seed puts us in the Cotton Bowl,
probably against Oklahoma.

Provided any of the top three make the NC game,
we could move up to the Cap1 Bowl, but not likely as there are 2 SEC East teams that hung 50 on us.

We still probably end up in the Cotton.

IMO..best case scenerio-- LSU beats Bama, bama gets Croomed ot TT'd and we win the SEC in a rematch of the century club. We end up in the Sugar Bowl. But as the lowest BCS club, I'm pretty sure we'll get a crappy matchup.
(like UGA got Hawaii)

So here what COULD happen.

What we could also hope for: beat Bama, win out,
and make the BCS as a at large team with a 10-2 record and probable #7-8 ranking.

Bama gets crushed by UF or UGA in a rematch.
Bama then falls to the Cap 1 Bowl.

The Big 10 has a problem getting to Pasadena. One, because their top team will be 12-0 and playing in the NC game, and two, the second place teams was skull dragged by USC in September.

So the Rose Bowl, hating the rematch, will probably will pick an at large team that would
put it over the top.

Guess who.

OU has a good chance of winning out, and they would be an at-large bcs team.

To be in one.

Beyond that is gravy. We need one win to get technically eligible, but two to guarantee we get in one. I'm hopeful we can get the one this weekend, and that we can get the second against Troy. Lose either one, and it gets dicey, because we sure as hell won't win any of the SEC games we have left.
