I just watched the highlights again. I have a different opinion of it now than I did back in the spring. It's interesting how Hatch / Lee looked sooo awesome.

Lee didn't look very awesome in the spring game.

That's because our defensive scheme left the receivers uncovered...

OK. I'm talking about the 7 for 13 for 181 yards and two TD's. Not ints.

Interesting that you brought up the spring game, actually. Here were my comments after leaving that game at halftime:

quote:

- Jarrett Lee is first string right now, but he looked real nervous in the pocket, and if we lose Perrilloux by the time Fall rolls around I expect Hatch to be the starter. He held the ball between the tackles for about 6 seconds on one of his sacks.
- Keiland Williams fumbled on the first drive, and didn't see the field after that. Richard Murphy was on the White team, and he played very well. Charles Scott is injured and didn't play. Stevan Ridley got a lot of carries for the Purple team, I wouldn't be surprised to see him get a good bit of playing time this year.
- Jared Mitchell fumbled the opening kickoff, but had a nice return on a later kickoff along with a catch.
- Demetrius Byrd had a nice kick return, along with a big catch where he made a couple of RS FR DBs look silly. Brandon LaFell had a couple of nice catches as well, and no drops. Terrance Toliver looked pretty blah with about 3 drops.
- Jai Eugene is first string right now, but he got burned once that I saw by Chris Mitchell. He also got torched by Jared Mitchell, but Mitchell was called for PI. I think Chris Hawkins may have the first CB spot right now. I'm very worried about the secondary, and I hope Patrick Johnson can step in and perform well.
- S Harry Coleman had a nasty hit, and appears to be first-string.
- Both D-lines got a lot of pressure. Ricky Jean-Francois and Drake Nevis were the White team DTs, while Al Woods and Marlon Favorite were Purple team DTs. I thought Woods and RJF were the most impressive DTs. Tyson Jackson didn't really stand out, we'll have to see if he lives up to his hype this season.
- The kicking game looked like shite. I think Colt David was 1-3 on FGs, only saw one decent punt. Kickoffs were pretty good, no touchbacks though.

Hatch highlights.. he was pretty impressive, I do wish to see some of the options/options passes/read options that was incorporated in that game.
