who do yall consider the top 1A teams this year?

Obviously South Plaq is the team to beat. Do yall think anyone can compete against them this year?

I am from Eunice and I am a St. Ed's fan. Their offense has looked sick with their QB being able to throw the ball all over every team they have played. But, it is hard to tell how good they are because they haven't played anyone worth a crap. They beat Iota and scored over 40 points on them (Iota has like 4 shutouts I think with us being their only loss) but Iota hasn't played anyone worth a crap either.

OCS is a legitimate #2, but the gap between them and south plaquemine is too great... This has been the curse of OCS and many other schools, the classification system has been screwed up ever since WM complained and had Evangel moved down... Great teams playing on the wrong level

I.e. 2006 vs. John Curtis, great OCS team, but a ridiculous John Curtis team was in their classification.

I totally agree South Plaq is on their own level.

I wouldn't sign it away just yet, they've got all the tools and the talent. But high school football is unpredictable as all-get-out. I expect some teams to seriously push them...

I look forward to High School Playoffs...

South Plaq. can't be touched in 1a. There are probably only 2 or 3 teams in 2a that could beat them, Curtis and ST. James. Probably not that many in 3a either. Those boys are good.

With a healthy South Plaq QB I would put them in the top 10-15 in all classes.

This inaccurate statement never gets old. Ruston, the team that could never win district since Evangel moved up-much less state, was who wrote the proposal. Not a single 5A team proposed to allow Evangel to play up. Funny how this gets put on WM though.

Oak Grove seems to be waking up lately, think they may have a chance?

Have you heard the news? They had a player die. This makes them a very dangerous team. Teams that have something like that to inspire them/give them something to play for as well as having a great coach like Dalrymple...very, very dangerous. They are very capable of playing over their heads and rolling to a title.

I read something about that. Oak Grove always seems to be in the running year after year.
