I've read on here a thousand times already how Byrd should have made the catch on the long pass that would have been a touchdown. The defender pulled his arm down just as he had the ball in his hands. Nobody on this board could have made that catch.

it goes down as a dropped ball because it hit his hands. but i agree, it wasnt his fault, couldnt have been defended any better by the DB

Anyone who watched the play should know that. It would have been a great catch considering he had two people on him, one of which was hanging on his arm.

He shouldn't have even run the route. Should have walked up to Lee, grabed the ball out of his hands and moonwalked into the end zone, all while playing the tuba for the band.

Did see when watching the replay after Byrd missed another tough throw one of the LSU coaches yelled something like "Catch the Ball"

Couldn't hear what Bryd said back but you could tell he didn't appreciate it. But the truth is the coaches expect great catches from him.

It was, but not by me. Paraphrasing what someone else posted to me earlier on the subject.

It was clearly a dropped pass. I was 10 rows up in that corner of the endzone. Yes it was good coverage but the ball hit him in the hands and then fell to the turf. Not acceptable if you are a #1 or #2 WR for the tigers.

you're wrong. The replay made it clear that the DB grabbed his arm and yanked it away right as the ball got there. It was just a perfect play by the DB. Not a drop by Byrd. No way you see that live in the stadium real time, no matter what row you are sitting on.

The ball hit his hands. The DB hit his arm forcing the ball to fall. How hard is that to understand?

No, because he was there, 10 rows up, he had a better view than the 50 cameras and angles and slow motion review. How hard is THAT to understand?

You need to check out the replay. It would've been an extraordinary catch if he had come down with it. This wasn't a Lafell drop.

I thought he should have caught it too initially, but when I watched the replay, the defender made a good play on him. What can Byrd do?
