I mean, the defense has been giving up chunks of yards every game to subpar offenses (MSU,Auburn,North Texas)

I want to say that I am shocked. but after watching the schemes the last couple weeks, I really can't say I am.

Like someone had mentioned earlier, winning masks a lot of mistakes.

I guess I just thought LSU was going to turn it around this game.

I miss when the defense used to blitz.

that was fun to watch.

My final opinion on this game is we should all scrap it and act like it didn't happen. Erase te drawing board and start again. Everyone on this board knows LSU is a better team than what they had showed Saturday. Take your lumps and start gameplanning for South Carolina.

While i agree, do you think the defensive scheme will all of a sudden change?

it's like were playing prevent D out there.

Even the tardiest rantard could tell you that their fastest WR doesn't need to be guarded by our Linebackers.

I think Miles is a good enough coach to realize that whatever his DC's did Saturday was completely shitty. He hinted at that in his "coach speak" comments after the game.

Understood. It was like their whole game plan was to keep the ball in front of them and make the play. Problem is, they were missing tackles with no help behind them.

Again, there's nothing else we can bitch about. You completely scrap that game and pretend it didn't happen.

I hope Miles puts his foot in someone's arse over that debacle, but you have to move forward. You can't worry about one game against a great team that was at home who was expected to play for the NC.

Yep, he's going to destroy that fearful purple swarm defense of Mallory/Peveto.

you mean the "reactionary" defense they have installed?

LSU has GREAT atheletes.

just a bad scheme right now.

I guess I was in denial.

like I mentioned, winning football games masks a lot of problems.

florida is the fastest team LSU will play this year. period.

Most definitely. The athletes are there. If we get a good scheme together and they mature, next year we should have a VERY fast and VERY good defense to make a SEC champ. run.

Sorry to admit it, but you could have not giving it a better name.

to the rest of the season and an SECC.

cenla, you def saw it coming.

LSU problems right now:

1. a bad read/react "bend and don't break" defensive scheme

2. non-running threat QB in Lee, or they won't let him run.

offenses do not respect the D's scheme at ALL.
and defenses do not respect any possibility to QB run with Lee in there.

exactly...those teams had the right idea, just not the weapons to do it...florida does

now, something good to think about is i dont think we play anyone else with the explosive weapons like UF, so we may be able to get by quite a few more times

the FL talent exposed our weaknesses and since our talent matches to theirs, we could not overwhelm them, .....like we did with the minor teams..thus getting a W.
Our talent could overcompensate the weaknesses.
...we are about to play other teams with talent as well....
we better work fast.

Before the season began, I picked an LSU loss to FLA...but I didn't predict that we would lose by that big of a margin. Still hopeful though.
