I'm shopping for a ztr for home use. I have about 4 acres that I will cut every couple of weeks. I have been cutting with a 60" grooming mower and that's really slow. I have it narrowed down to the badboy outlaw 61", Badboy CZT 60" both with the Kawasaki or the scag freedom z pro 61" also with the same engine as the badboy. Any thoughts? The outlaw is 8k and the scag/czt are 7200 out the door

I cut commercial for 10 years using every mower made. I'm a SCAG guy.

I have 0 experience with BadBoy, but have 2 Scags. Good machines, grease fittings everywhere (very good), and the tapered spindle bearings give great longevity. I'm still partial to the Kubotas, though.

I have a Kubota RTV and a tractor. I like kubota products but they are a good bit higher price wise for a comparable machine. I am leaning towards the scag since the dealer is only 15 minutes from the house and they service in house. The Badboy dealer is 45 minutes away.

That's definitely a big plus for the Scag

I have a Hustler that has been great but for your options & dealer location, it's Scag all the way. They make great machines.

The scag dealer sells Hustler as well. He only had a couple of those in stock and they were residential models.

Update- I bit the bullet and bought the SCAG this morning.I just need some dry weather so I can get out and play.I am actually looking forward to cutting grass for a change.Hopefully it beats the hell out of the grooming mower.

Take the roll bar off, its pretty annoying if you have to cut around any low trees. I hate how they started making them where you cant flip them back anymore.

Plus they look dumb sticking straight up like that.

+1 on the scag though. Awesome mowers. I've had mine for roughly 8-9 years, and haven't had a single problem with it. Grease it and change the oil once a year and you should never have a problem with it.
