Yakima racks for transporting kayak(s)

Just got in a Q-tower set to mount on my car. Previously I've used foam pads and straps and it's worked just fine...but I wanted to be able to carry two.
Upon further inspection the specs on this rack advise that you not exceed 100 pounds...I'll be carrying somewhere in the 150-160 range between the two. Is this just a "weight limit" for liability reasons or should I actually be worried that they may not hold up carrying two yaks? Anyone with any experience here?
Round crossbars with two sets of Hullraiser attachments for nesting the kayaks
Also to those with experience transporting two like this, I'll be carrying each on their side obviously. In the past I carrid one flat and never needed to tie down the bow and stern. Would carrying on the side require a bow and stern tie down or do you think a strap in the front and back of the cockpit would be enough?

first - i don't exceed factory rec's on anything.
unless i'm going on a long trip, i never tie down the ends. per the manufacturer, the added stress on the hull can crack it.so if you do tie down the ends, they should never be overly tight.
i've got two spots on my yak that i use every time when i tie down. one in the back around the rocket launcher brackets and one in the front that's a paddle saddle. like you (currently) i carry my yak and sup flat and side by side. i just don't like the cradles but i do love yakima.

I have the Yakima claw system, around my FJ rack. I've carried 2-4 kayaks using the stacker towers before, and 2 using the mako saddles. I am not sure why they would limit you to 100# unless the rack attached to your car is not as strong.
Also, I do not tie down the bow and stern unless going a long way, like when i drove my FJ to California, with the Magic 14.5 on top.

I always tie bow and stern if I'm going any distance at all or getting on a major road. Too simple to do versus the risk to kayak and others of not doing it.
Same criteria would be used on the weight limit. If you don't go far or too fast probably not an issue.
You may be able to get a longer ratchet strap and run it though the back door jam/interior of car and up and over kayak to make it more secure and take some strain off of rack system

after looking at the "q-towers" i think the weight limit is probably to remove liability from yakima for damage to the vehicle caused by the small footprint of the tower.
