They can cover a lot of ground quickly. That guide has to make his first shot count.

Yeah, I don't think I would have been very calm immediately after. Huge bear, over 1,400 lbs.

I would not make a good guide.

I would have emptied as he waddled by the first time.

Why did the gunman have his hand on the rangefinder when the bear was within 10 yards? Ive never hunted bears but I would think he should have his finger on the trigger ready to fire at that distance.

Too close for me.

I'm not sure why guide has a scope? I'd think that would make stopping a charge more precarious.

I've had bear sausage. I find there are much better kinds of meat out there. It would do in a survival situation though

If i were on that hunt they would have found Cracker Scat everywhere.....

No thank you. Its not great meat and If i want a rug I can recycle someones bear rug, i see rugs at auctions all the time.
I see black bears all the time and I dont think people realize how damn fast a bear can run and climb a tree. With the Bear warnings they tell you not to run, but they need to tell you why, you will never out run a bear and they will catch you and eat you. In bear country carry bear spray and a big enough of a gun to kill a bear and know how to use it. I was in this ER when they brought this family in it looked like they had a blood filled water ballons fight in the ER terrible terrible but its nature too many people have this zoo attitude in the wild & people do not realize that you can get lost die and get eaten in a national park by several animals. Bears have poor eyesight and will pursue you if you run away if nothing else to see what you are. Lot of guys deer hunt with a .338 win mag knowing it's overkill for deer but is appropriate for bear.

Way to close for me. About 400 yards too close. Plus there was another bear not that far off by the water edge. Nope nope nope.

That is one big arse bear.

Yep, that's a monster. Imagine something like that moving 30 mph.

I'm sure I'll probably get pummeled for this but what's the point of hunting something like that? Is it just so you can make a rug? Seems pretty pointless.
