Anyone else not able to concentrate on much that doesn't involve a duck right now? I think I need to cancel clinic and head to the camp....

Been like that for a couple of weeks still have so much to do as far as blinds and decoys but it's to late now. Still have two weeks until we open up here but going to the other zones during the weekends.

You ain't kidding. I've been watching it closely. It's just now getting to where I can see the hourly forecast into Saturday morning.

I'll be deer hunting in north central La and hopefully that rain will push through quickly Saturday morning.

It's rained the past 2 weekends on us and I've got a friend bringing his young son on his first deer hunt and I want them to have a good time.

Will be a long day. I am ready to go home this afternoon and hook up the surface drive boat, load up and head to the camp in the morning. Hurry up 4:30.

Heck weather is going to do what it's going to do at this point I'm going to the camp and hunting just a matter of what type of rain gear to bring. I've stopped worrying about weather I can't control it. I'll have another drink and hope lightning isn't nearby as that's the only thing that would keep me at the camp.

Yeah we've been swamped at work but every time I get a spare second I'm loading up the DU migration map, making scouting plans for the next week, gear lists and decoy plans, etc, etc, etc. My bro lives in OK so I'm kind of living vicariously through him until the 14th when I'll be able to get in the blind for my first hunt this season.

Good luck FelicianaTigerfan
Aghhhhh my boys only 3 and I can't wait to bloody his face at the skinning rack! Hell I get excited when he "frog hunts" the piss frogs around my house. I'm really going to lose it when he smashes his first deer

I'm having trouble at work too. Ready for Sat morning.

I think we need some more cold weather to bring larger amounts down. There seemed to be a lot more ducks before (2-3 weeks ago) Patricia came through.

My season doesnt open until the 21st, so i had been fine the past couple days. But i got a call from a buddy who has a spot open in his blind which is in the coastal, and asked me to go. So yeah, now i cant get anything done because im too pumped for saturday. Ducks and LSUvsBAMA. Doesnt get much better than that for a saturday.

My step son will be 12 soon and he is spoiled. Has already killed a pile of hogs and few deer including a 7 point. He either hides his excitement really well or is just going through the motions because in our family all the guys hunt and he thinks he should too. My younger 5 year old is the one that begs to go. cant wait to get him shooting
