I'm new to bow hunting over the last few years and have never had my bow retuned since purchase. Is this something that should be done each year?

Not necessarily. I know my bow's ideal specs. I have marks on my cam. If ATA gets long, I know brace will be short. If I start shooting, and everything feels and sounds right with no change to the specs, I leave it alone.

All depends on how much you shoot thru the year. Strings can stretch over time from use. Have you noticed your release point change any. Most people find this out when they can't figure out why the string keeps taking skin off there forearm. Usually if your groups are still tight and you take care of your string modern bows will last several seasons without needing to be tuned.

I haven't shot that much this summer and plan on shooting a lot this weekend. I guess once I see what my groups look like I will know. The only thing I may end up doing is change arrows. I'm currently shooting Cabelas Extreme Stalker made by Easton. I know everyone likes different arrows so I plan on buying a couple of singles and see what I like.

Make your changes pretty quick. With bow season almost here shops will be filled up. And a quick turn around will be impossible. If you do change arrows all you may need to do is adjust your pins which is easy to do yourself

I shoot a single pin Cobra site which is very easy to change.

What arrows do you shoot? Just curious.

Red head carbon fury with 2" blazer vanes. Cost 59 to 69 cannot remember exactly what I paid. I can't see spending 120 dollars for a dozen arrows when I can make 3 of these arrows touch each other at 25 yards.

I'm in the same boat as you. Arrows are expensive!

how do you feel about the red heads? I currently shoot easton axis n-fused in a 340 and 9.5 gpi.

I am interested in the red heads because I work part time at bass pro and can get 40% off on them.

I like them I am yet to have any trouble with them they all fly straight and the vains and knocks are still in great shape.

When my wife was working there I got hooked on alot of the BPS brand products and overall I was more than satified with the stuff I bought that had red heads name on it.
