Anyone have a deer cam that has pictures automatically sent to their phone, if so which do you recommend? I have verizon but thinking of switching back to at&t... camp is to far away to check camera regularly, so figured this would be a good option

I have the Moultrie modem and really like it. Five minutes or less and the pic is hitting your phone. If that was the route I went I would recommend also buying the Y splitter and the solar panel. This will allow your camera and modem to run off of solar power instead of battery power as long as the solar panel has charge. Using a modem also allows you to be able to rotate it from camera to camera as long as the camera is compatible. Two guys I work with have the Covert and they work good as long as you have a strong signal. With decent or less signal even with a solar panel it eats batteries. A positive is that it is one unit and not separate. Picture quality on both aren't much different. Both utilize Verizon service. Now, my novel is done. Sorry for the length.

Bought my FIL the covert black ops Verizon and like the reviews online it eats up batteries, like 2 weeks maybe on a new set and that's with at best average amount of pics. My uncle has a couple of the Covert ATt and loves them, much better on batteries. I went with the Verizon because of th better network and my FIL has Verizon so I wanted to make it easier.

They are awesome though, you can turn the settings on and off so you don't have to get texted but can check them online. My FIL sets it up on his coon trap so he knows as soon as he has one, lol. Whatever works, lots of cool uses like that.

It's really nice to have one for a new spot, because you can check it out without going in there and know if it's worth it after just a day instead of leaving it for a long time and getting a crap ton of leaves blowing or absolutely no pics.

I've got two of the covert wireless ATT cameras and they are awesome. I'm probably about to buy a third one. The pictures upload straight to the covert app on your phone so you can check them when its convenient. Beats the hell out of getting the pics via text message.

I have 2 that did the same thing. I called them and the cameras come setup to send pics everytime it takes a picture which means its constantly hitting the cell tower and drain the battery. I set mine up to send every 4 hours and the batteries last about 3 months now.

Also buy enloop rechargeable batteries. They last longer than store bought AA and you can add a solar rechargeable to your unit if you want.

What ever service works at you place.

Then get one that takes external power.

Then buy a 12v to 6v converter and put a deep cycleconnected to a solar panel and it last for a few months.

Great tip I'll let him know, thank you. Covert cameras are generally known for very good battery life and he gets pretty good signal so that tip makes sense. Not much need to literally have pictures asap.
